18 And for a period of time of about forty years, he put up with them in the wilderness. 19 And after[a] destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave their land to his people[b] as an inheritance. 20 This took[c] about four hundred and fifty years. And after these things, he gave them[d] judges until Samuel the prophet.
